Measured parameters & Sensors

Airgeek A1 measures the following air quality indicators:

Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) concentration
Particulate Matter (PM₁ and PM_2.5) concentration. A PM₁₀ value is derived from the PM₁ and PM_2.5 measurements by the sensor.
Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂) concentration in the ppb range
Carbon Monoxide (CO) concentration in the ppb range
Temperature & Relative Humidity
Atmospheric pressure

Connectivity

Airgeek A1 supports the following wireless connectivity standards:

NFC used with the completely free Airgeek app
Matter over Thread, or Zigbee used for optional smart home connectivity
The Airgeek app allows you to use the device completely offline (with just NFC) without losing access to any features

Power Supply & Battery Life

With two high-quality AA batteries, the battery life is 1 year. Your device will come with great NiMH batteries pre-installed.

5-Year Warranty

The device comes with a standard 2-year warranty, plus three years limited Kickstarter special warranty, for a total warranty period of 5 years.

The limited warranty covers all functional defects the device may develop during that time, and any deficiencies in craftsmanship. We'll split the cost of shipping.

Fanless PM Sensing: World's First

Airgeek is the world's first complete air quality monitor with no moving parts. All other devices currently on the market utilize a fan-based particulate matter sensor.

Airgeek instead relies on the BMV080, a revolutionary sensor developed by Bosch Sensortec which counts particles flowing freely in the ambient air. It uses a safe, invisible infrared laser beam and collects backscatter from the particles as they fly by—basically it's a tiny dust radar.

Airgeek performs between 6 and 8 high-accuracy PM_X measurements at random times throughout the day to establish a reliable moving average concentration.

Matter & Zigbee

Airgeek supports the two most popular^[1] IoT connectivity standards for Home use: Matter over Thread, and Zigbee^[2]. It works with Apple Home, Google Home, HomeAssistant and other Smart Home apps and hubs.

This allows you to use the precise measurements that Airgeek provides to control compatible smart home equipment. For example, you can control heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment based on real-time^[3] air quality data.

Based on the results of a survey we did among the participants of embedded world 25 ( $n = 81$ ). The connectivity preferences were: Matter over Thread (25 %), Zigbee (23 %), NFC (21 %), data display only (12 %), other (19 %).
Work on Zigbee and Matter is now in progress. Our devices will be certified for Matter over Thread and Zigbee by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA).
In order to achieve great battery life, Airgeek performs between 6 and 8 PM_X measurements at random times throughout the day. The reported PM_X value is the moving 24 hour average.

From day one, our goal was to get every detail right. That is why we chose to handle every aspect in-house—so we could maintain complete control over the craftsmanship, materials, and sensor technology without compromise.

5-Year Warranty & 10-Year Design Life

In addition to the standard 2-year warranty, all Airgeek devices come with a limited 5-year Kickstarter special warranty. The limited warranty covers any functional issues that the device may develop over time and any issues due to poor workmanship.

Made in Prague, Czechia

Airgeek is designed & made completely in-house in Prague, the Czech republic. All parts for the device, including all the sensors, are sourced almost exclusively from reputable European and American companies.

What's Your Style?

You can mix-and-match several types of hardwood—walnut, ash, cherry & oak—with several types of core & backplate colors—black, white, gray, red, blue & yellow. It is going to be a tough choice, because all the combinations look amazing.

Just to be clear, when we say wood, we mean it. The frame of the device is made of hardwood, which is first CNC-machined and then hand-polished, oiled and laser-marked. This makes each and every device unique—and uniquely beautiful.

Breathe Better With the Airgeek App

Collect Data

Airgeek measures all of the aforementioned air quality parameters in regular intervals. It stores data in memory and produces long-term statistics.

Analyze

The Airgeek app downloads and analyzes the data via NFC. If any parameter falls outside of the healthy range, it suggests how to keep it in line.

Make Changes

Follow the app's advice. Often, a small change is all that's needed to make a big improvement.

See the Difference

The results should be clearly visible in a week or two. Check your device every now and then to understand how the quality of your air changes with time and to keep it in check.

Reliable NFC Link

Instead of Bluetooth, we chose NFC as the communication interface for the Airgeek app. The great advantage of NFC is that it just works, while consuming virtually no energy. Just tap your device to communicate.

No Subscriptions

The app is completely & forever free. There are no subscription plans and you're not required to create an account. You don't have to use any kind of cloud integration. We don't sell your data.

Built For Accuracy

We started Airgeek because we didn't trust the numbers other devices on the market were giving us. That's why we used the best sensors we could find—even though they are harder to source, more difficult to integrate and much more expensive.

All of the sensor we use are made in Europe or the United States, and are the top-notch products of their respective manufacturers.
