About Us

In late 2023, David tried to buy an air quality monitor for his bedroom. He was so dissatisfied with existing devices that he decided to build his own. After all, how hard could that possibly be? His two main requirements were high accuracy and long battery life.

The task turned out to be much more difficult than expected. To get access to the best sensors, NDAs had to be signed; for that, a company was needed. So David started one with Ondra Hrubý, and without even knowing it, we were in the air quality business.

The company, 0x2A, is focused on bringing innovative electronics to life. Our first product, Airgeek A1, is the realization of David's original desire for a high-quality personal air quality monitor.

Our Product Design Philosophy

We're Committed to Open Source

Our team has put thousands of hours into designing, prototyping, testing and improving our products. We are distributing all of that under a free software license to benefit the community.

Ownership, Not Rent

We make money by building and selling hardware.[1] The device and the data it collects are yours alone, and the Airgeek app is included in the price.

We Don't Compromise on Quality

We take no joy in building mediocre products. We started our own company to create high-quality electronics that you cannot find elsewhere.

Privacy by Default

If anything gets stored on our servers, it's encrypted so that even we can't read it. Our apps have no telemetry.[2] We don't track you and we don't sell your data.

Right to Remain Offline

Our devices have connected features such as smart home integration. But these are optional and add real value. All features of the device are accessible offline from the Airgeek app.

  1. We plan to use a subscription model in the B2B segment, where it's arguably more fair and more meaningful.

  2. When you open a support ticket from the mobile app, diagnostic information about your device gets shared with our team.
